Use a lightweight antiseptic like Witch Hazel to help prevent product and dandruff build up in your locs. Witch hazel is a natural toner and astringent that removes excess oils (like sweat) and closes the open pores on your skin.
To make a solution, you need to mix one part witch hazel oil (alcohol-free), with two parts water.
- Mix the ingredients and apply it directly to the scalp using your fingers.
- Massage the solution into your scalp for two minutes. Leave it on for ten minutes before rinsing your hair and scalp.
- Apply this solution to your scalp twice a week. The antibacterial properties of witch hazel reduces the inflammation of the skin on the scalp, treating any infections and soothing the skin.
